Keep it cheap and do it fast With only an hour of face time and a day before the show date, Angle Park delivers the goods. | |
Qwest Communications called on a Monday from Colorado. They had a sales meeting planned for the end of the week, and needed to get one of their re-sellers in front of a camera in suburban Chicago.
When Phil and a small crew arrived on location, he discovered that his interviewee had been delayed while traveling, and had not received any information about the topic of conversation. And even worse, while Geoffrey Shepstone was excited to participate in an interview, there was only an hour before he needed to leave the office for customer calls. Plus, he was a little nervous. So while the crew set up quickly, Phil sat down with Geoffrey and wrote a number of questions designed to put him at ease. These questions plumbed the depths of his expertise, but didn't push him into uncomfortable territory. Then the camera rolled.
Later that day, Phil brought the tapes back to Angle Park, and Martin edited them into a short, three minute piece puncutated by graphics that set up each topic. When complete, Martin encoded a Windows Media version of the video, and ftp'd it to our web server. That afternoon and evening, Qwest personnel tuned in from around the country for approval. By noon on the following day, the masters were ready to ship... hours prior to the FedEx deadline.
While this project won't win any awards for creative development or cinematography, we include it here because sometimes time demands instant turn-around, and budget demands modest means. That doesn't have to spell compromise. Geoffrey was on message, and the project was delivered on time.
