You've got the gig... but it's three days from now in Detroit. Filming Karen Clark-Sheard's debut solo performance with 2500 fans

After years singing with her older sisters in a gospel group called The Clark Sisters, Karen Clark-Sheard made her solo debut in 1997. We were there, with a crew of 25.

Island Records called on a Monday, approved a budget on a Tuesday, and Angle Park produced this concert film in Detroit on the following Saturday. Bits and pieces have been broadcast, and the ninety minute film is available on home video.

Phil produced, Martin edited and co-directed with Paul Andresen.

Karen Clark-Sheard sang her heart out for 3 hours, and never hit a sour note.
