Bancos de la confianza (Banks of trust) On the ground in the Dominican Republic to show a non-profit in action. | |
The Women's Opportunity Fund operates many "trust banks" throughout the developing world, in which women are given small amounts of capital to develop businesses. This development tool, called microlending, is very effective because its participants are placed into small groups within each community and charged with looking after not only their own interests, but the interests of their loan co-signers.
Martin shot this documentary-style promotional piece while on a corporate insight trip with The Pampered Chef, Ltd.
