Profiles
The personalities behind the bench.

Martin Baumgaertner, Director

Martin founded Angle Park in 1989, and through the years has done a little of everything: directing, writing, creative development, consulting, producing, designing, scripting, and programming. He now concentrates primarily on directing, shooting and editing for film and video, and project direction for new media projects.

Elizabeth Sung, Producer

Liz has an incredible eye for detail and shot composition. Beyond her photography, which has taken a major place in many Angle Park projects, her attention to detail is visible in carefully created animations and her authoring of extremely complex DVD titles.

Roxanna Markewycz, Producer

A veteran location manager and music video producer at the former H-GUN in Chicago, Roxanna is equally comfortable managing a crew of 35 in a multi-million dollar rented home as she is on the phone making new business connections.

Angle Park Alumni

Phil Cantor

In 2003, after a seven year stint at Angle Park, Phil Cantor decided to hang up his light meters and production books. He left to get a Northwestern University masters of education, and is teaching science to 150 sixth-graders at a West-side Chicago Public School. Prior to joining Angle Park, Phil was a freelance director of photography and producer. As an Angle Park partner, his ability to keep in line hundreds of extras, dozens of crew members, millions of dollars of equipment, and even the most cantankerous of creatives saved the day on more than one occasion.

Alexei VanMourik

Alexei produced and assistant directed for a couple of years as a freelancer here at Angle Park, where he first identified (and frankly, we think caused) a strange paranormal phenomenon known as the Time Warp. He is now an agency producer around the corner at Ogilvy, helping hapless creatives sell more soap!

Stephanie Walker

Stephanie Walker helmed our Avid system for a few years, and had the distinction of being one of the few editors we've worked with that is as good on the creative side as she is on the technical. Alas, she has now defected to the Dark Side as an account manager at Edge Creative Group in Detroit, where she now pushes around poor saps like us.

David Lynch

Dave designed, animated, and programmed various projects here at Angle Park. He was also the founder and major domo of Bar Night, a Wednesday-night institution attended as regularly as church by some. He has taken his proto-curmudgeonly ways to Home Vision Entertainment, where he edits and authors DVDs in languages he doesn't speak for the home video market.

Dara Blaine

Dara was an assistant editor and all-around production person for two years, then left for Hollywood, where she spent some time in the rental department at Clairmont Camera learning the ins and outs of the film camera. She also toured the world in the employ of a leading effects director, working with him on a number of big pictures.

Karen Yates

Karen was our first employee, and wrote copy and managed projects for a couple of years in the '90s. Finished with all that corporate stuff, she is a fulltime actor in Chicago theater, and has begun to direct. We still get to see her now and then as she lends her voice to the occasional Angle Park project as a narrator.
